Grandstand Information
GENERAL ENTRY
GENERAL ENTRY
- Access to general admission areas around the Zandvoort circuit
- Explore sand dunes for elevated views of the track
- Head-on views of the start at Turn 1 (Tarzan)
- Close-up views at braking zones, banked Turn 3, and Turns 6–10
- Excellent visibility without fences in many areas
- Photo opportunities from natural elevation points
- Shade and amenities available near Turn 1 (ice cream, rest areas)
- Flexibility to find quieter spots around the circuit
- Outdoor experience
General admission at Zandvoort offers some of the best views on the F1 calendar. While reserved grandstand seating is great, don’t miss the chance to explore the sand dunes for a unique perspective. The circuit’s compact layout makes it easy to navigate the perimeter path and find a spot that suits you. Climb the dunes for a higher view or stand close to the fence for an up-close experience. The natural elevation eliminates the need for intrusive fencing, offering excellent visibility and perfect photo opportunities. However, be prepared for the exposed conditions outside the main grandstands—shade is scarce, so bring comfortable footwear, stay hydrated, and pack sunscreen. A bucket and spade are optional, but you’ll need the essentials!
If you’re sensitive to the heat, stay near Turn 1 (Tarzan). This area offers some of the best general admission views, with plenty of shade and amenities like ice cream stands. It’s one of the most popular spots, though, so be prepared for crowds. From here, you get a fantastic head-on view of the start, and it’s a prime place for action as cars roar down the main straight. As you move further around the circuit, particularly towards Turn 2, you’ll find great views of the braking zones and the iconic banked Turn 3, which appears almost vertical from certain angles. The elevated area towards the back of the track offers an excellent view of the middle sector, without the usual crowds or fences, providing a more relaxed atmosphere. With the action unfolding from Turn 6 to Turn 10, this section offers a spectacular vantage point to see both high-speed sweeps and overtaking moves. It’s one of the best spots for general admission fans looking to catch all the drama at Zandvoort.
HAIRPIN 2
HAIRPIN 2
- Located at Turn 10, the hairpin corner of Zandvoort
- Ideal for photographing cars braking heavily (~100 km/h) and navigating the tight corner
- Excellent view of cars accelerating out of the hairpin
- Elevated position offers visibility of multiple corners, especially Turns 3–7
- Captures a mix of technical driving and high-speed action
- Thrilling perspective for both photography and watching the race unfold
- Superior vantage point compared to Hairpin Grandstand 1 for overall track visibility
The Hairpin Grandstands 1 and 2 are positioned at a key point on the circuit, where the cars brake heavily for the entry to Turn 10, one of the slower corners at Zandvoort. As the cars reduce speed to around 100km/h before powering back up towards the arena section, this makes for a fantastic opportunity to photograph the cars at lower speeds. It’s an excellent spot to capture the precision and control required by drivers as they navigate this tight, technical section.
However, when it comes to a more comprehensive and dynamic view, Bronze 2 on the corner exit stands out as the superior option. Situated just after the apex of Turn 10, this grandstand offers an exciting perspective, where you can witness the sheer power and acceleration of an F1 car as it blasts out of the hairpin and hurtles towards the next section of the track. The acceleration is jaw-dropping, and the noise is truly awe-inspiring as the cars shift into high gear. What truly sets Bronze 2 apart from Bronze 1 is the expansive view it offers. Not only do you get an excellent view of the hairpin exit, but from this vantage point, you also have glimpses of other significant parts of the track, especially between Turns 3 and 7. The elevation and positioning of the grandstand allow you to follow the flow of the race further down the circuit, giving you a broader sense of the action as the drivers navigate the sequence of corners leading up to the arena section. The visibility across multiple corners provides a more varied and immersive experience, making Bronze 2 the clear winner for those wanting to catch a greater variety of racing moments.
Whether you’re looking to photograph the braking zones or enjoy the high-speed action as cars exit the hairpin, Hairpin Grandstand 2 offers one of the most thrilling perspectives at Zandvoort, with a perfect mix of technical driving and fast-paced acceleration.
BEN PON GRANDSTAND
BEN PON GRANDSTAND
- Located at the end of the main straight, next to the Pit Grandstand
- Excellent view of cars exiting high-speed Turn 13, the banked final corner
- Great spot to catch last-minute overtakes before the start/finish line
- Elevated position allows visibility of cars approaching and exiting Turn 3
- Watch how drivers handle the banked corners and maintain momentum
- Mix of high-speed action and strategic racing moments
- Thrilling perspective for photography and live race excitement
The Ben Pon Grandstand is located at the opposite end of the main straight from Tarzanbocht, right next to the Pit Grandstand. This spot offers a thrilling view of the cars as they exit the high-speed Turn 13, the banked final corner, and rejoin the pit straight. It’s a crucial section of the track where drivers may line up for last-minute overtakes or attempt to gain an advantage before the final stretch to the start/finish line. This makes it an exciting place to catch some intense race action, especially in the closing laps.
Thanks to the circuit’s natural undulations, fans in the Ben Pon Grandstand get more than just a view of the final corner. You’ll also have a great perspective of the cars approaching and exiting Turn 3, the first of the banked corners on the track. This corner played a pivotal role in the 2021 race, with drivers needing to get it just right to maintain momentum as they head towards the more technical parts of the circuit. The ability to see how the cars handle this challenging section adds an extra layer of excitement to the experience. With its position near both the end of the pit straight and the banked corners, the Ben Pon Grandstand offers a dynamic mix of high-speed action and tactical moments, making it one of the most thrilling spots for any fan at Zandvoort.
ARENA GRANDSTAND 1
ARENA 1
- Curves around Turn 12 in Zandvoort’s Arena section
- Best views mid-corner or further along the curve for approach and exit of Turns 11–12
- Excellent spot to watch cars accelerate out of Turn 12 and tackle the braking zone at Turn 11
- Thrilling mix of technical driving and position battles
- Heart of the Arena atmosphere with thousands of fans in orange
- Live music, cheering, flags, and flares create an electric, unique spectacle
- Perfect for experiencing both racing action and fan energy
Arena Grandstand 1 curves around Turn 12, positioned in the heart of Zandvoort’s fiery orange Arena section. This iconic grandstand offers a diverse range of views depending on where your seat is located along its long, sweeping arc.
For those sitting closest to Turn 11, the view is somewhat more limited, focusing primarily on the action within Turns 11 and 12. While it’s exciting to see the cars tackle the tight chicane, you miss out on the approach and exit of the section, which means you won’t experience the full flow of the circuit. However, as you move further into the grandstand, especially around the mid-corner area, the view improves dramatically. Here, you can witness the cars powering out of Turn 12, a thrilling sight as they accelerate into the long-radius turn. The best seats, however, are positioned further along the curve, where fans get a clear view of the approach and braking zone for Turn 11—a prime spot to see drivers fight for position as they prepare for this technical section.
This is also where the atmosphere truly comes alive. As the cars make their way around the final part of the lap, they enter a slow, tight chicane surrounded by enthusiastic grandstands, marking the heart of the Arena. Thousands of fans in orange create an electric atmosphere, blaring drum and bass anthems and waving flags in unison, with the air filled with the sound of flames and cheers. The addition of dozens of orange flares lighting up the grandstands only adds to the spectacle, creating one of the most unique and raucous atmospheres in motorsport.
